Since I make quite a lot of suggestions and don't feel like bumping a bunch of old ideas (some of which got plenty of community support), I'm just gonna make a metathread for the suggestions I have that I still like (Some ideas were rather stupid and are therefore left out). Obviously none of these ideas are being discussed in as full detail as they were on their original threads, but they're still summed up here.




Passing ownership in pre-game lobbies

It would be nice if when somebody left their lobby it passed ownership to the next person... It sucks getting a good lobby only for the owner to leave and ruin it

Making Canberra a Capital

Canberra, being the capital of Australia, should probably either be the capital of NSW (despite it not being the real capital, see Canada:Ontario), or be the capital of a new capital district. Just for some accuracy.

St. Lawrence Seaway

By making slight adjustments to the great lakes region, water could be implemented there and allow for ships to be built and move from the great lakes. (Probably an ignorable feature with the new custom maps coming, just thought it may make a difference between a EU v USA battle sometimes.)

Coalition Edits

It's long been suggested that another rank get added, and I decided to throw in as well an adjustable rank admin (So you can set exactly what extra stuff a member at a rank can do) and allies to your coalition if there's a certain coalition yours is very friendly with (perhaps such as Dalmati and Dalmati Pups)

Undoing Movements

When you click a unit, there's also a box in the corner saying "Undo last movement", preventing that annoying time when you make a small movement and can't undo it. Also suggested in the comments was to have an "undo" button for the whole turn, which would entirely solve the problem of combined stacks, if a bit ineffectively.

Suggestion status: First part added to admin to-do list, second part unsure.




Bringing Blitz to SM's Level

After a long discussion in the comments of this thread, a final suggestion was to just add +1 attack to Blitz after long consideration of pros and cons (see the thread http://afterwind.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=4341, in order to catch it's expansion up to Sky Menace as well as considering that the original Blitzkreig (WWII) was a strategy that crushed on the offense, making it this also pretty accurate. If this turns out to be OP, then just remove it.

More Extensive Game History

Capability to view older games, SP earned in a certain period of time (day/week/month). Also available for CWs and duels, since it would require similar editing.

Adjusting End-Game Stat Display

Currently, the totals of the endgame appear to be based off of what everyone has at the end of the turn. This causes some misdisplays of power. Endgame, an smaller player that kept a standing army and peace with everyone will have a supposedly "higher" unit count than a dominating player who also lost a lot of units every week. The amounts displayed endgame should be the amount of troops you've built, money you've earned, and cities you've taken, rather than an amount of "what was left" every time.

Suggestion status: Agreed to be implemented ^_^

Passing ownership:
uneeded, will clog up the UI.

canberra the capital:
already suggested too many times, i have actually suggested this before, admins are impartial

sealanes: pain in the ass to code and get right, and a pain in the ass for a player to maneuver, overall? A pain in the ass.

Coalition Edits:
current positions are good enough, officers can invite and start clan wars, leaders can edit everything and kick/demote officers, founder has control over who is leaders. this is fine as it is and there are better things for the admins to spend their time on.

Undoing movement: from memory this has been suggested a bunch of times too, would be good to have.

blitz upgrades: i talked about +1 attack to blitz ages ago in game, never posted about it but yeah, that is the only logical way to buff it.

extensive game history: don't see the point, all it shows is how much sp you earned in a game, it's a pretty pointless stat in the first place.
adding coaltion wars would mean also showing the coaltion you represented or possibly your coalition history, and would clog the page up.

End-Game Stat Display: do you actually ever read those stats? i don't they aren't relevant, it's fairly ovbious the person who won will have most of the best stats anyway. pointless

so overall the good ones you suggested have already been thrown around before, and everything else would make an insignificant change to the game compared to the effort required, which is probably why the admins have ignored it.

Sea lanes aren't that hard to maneuver, I do it all the time, it's just that yeah, it would be a real pain in the ass to code those in.

The need of passing the ownership is what if we get a full lobby of people in say, true WWII, then the creator leaves. What happens to everyone who wanted to play that game? The ownership should be passed to fix this problem.
