Anyways, I'm sure armies can cross rivers, not sure why they shouldn't stop armies from crossing bridges or the portable military bridges. ![](/images/smilies/necro.gif) :metal:

You know what is the problem with this?
That map scale is too small to include rivers properly in the game, at least not at the same level that you tried to, and also it feels that perhaps it needs more port cities to make a better use of the river.

Small rivers to me are pointless, they aren't even strategic, since they can be crossed easily. Arguably the only benefit is that they can be used to transport units. That is why in my maps I make rivers large enough so they cannot be crossed unless by ship or via a bridge/city. This allows for naval combat on the river and fight for those chokepoints

When I first started my maps I included small rivers that werent the most important or large but used them to connect cities. I like how Tunder is doing this here it might be overkill but it serves the purpose of naval transportation and how it is much faster than walking.
