Music: Metal- Where are we at now?

So, every decade there's always been a new, popular genre of metal (for the most part), but so far in the 2010's, I really haven't heard much of anything new and great. Do we decide what was popular in a decade by looking back, or is it popular in-the-time? Either way, post some new metal here (New genres that have come about in the past 6 years plz), and have some nice discussion on Metal in general. I've heard Metalcore is something new, though I've never actually heard any of it.

For an example of metal in the past:

1969-1978: Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin

1979-1990: Metallica, Slayer, Death, Mötley Crüe, Van Halen, Iron Maiden

1991-2002: Dream Theater, Korn, Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Pantera

2003-2010: System of a Down, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Rammstein

I tried listening to some today, songs that don't actually song like every other one seem to be extremely scarce. Is this pretty much Glam metal v2, only 9999x shittier?
