Music: Tuned/slowed down just a tad = better?

I'm not sure if it's just me, but whenever I listen to a song I like, if I slow it down so slightly (0.8 - 2.0 seconds) it seems to sound substantially better. Take this for example, listen to "Du riechst so gut" on this video (link, go to 49:39), then compare it to the regular version (link). Is it just me and my tastes, or do other people think this?

My friend made a Switchfoot album sped up by quite a bit and it's actually half decent. A SWITCHFOOT album being half decent, yeah I know it's crazy.
