I've noticed that, win or lose, and regardless of other stats--income, cities, units, etc--I almost always cause way more population casualties than other players. I thought it was due to frequent use of tanks, but recently have been experimenting with Marines as my primary attack unit, and I'm still seeing this pattern. How are populations casualties caused? How are they calculated?

the collateral your unit has increases the chance and % of population casualities
