Being a poker player and quite found of statistics, I was wondering if someone could come up with an web based battle odds calculator, a little like what they do with online poker: http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-tools/odds-calculator/texas-holdem Basically you would put the units and the strat (and upgrades?) of each players etc and it would tell you for example player A 80% chances of winning, neutral 10% player B 10% (in case 2 players attack while not at peaceallied) I know I would use it quite a lot, mostly like in poker to see how bad were my bad beats Cheers

Nice idea, but I dont think it would be possible, for 3 reasons: a) This will remove the skill element determined by a players judgment b) There would be to many calculations to determine the probability of battle of outcomes because of reinforcements from other cities not involved in a specific battle c) I assume it would be practically impossible to write a script for this type of code in the current game engine

A good man made this and I have his calculation. I cannot introduce strategy but I can manually introduce Number of troop (SINGLE TYPE OF UNIT) , Att/Def value, HP and Critical . Since he is not longer in the game I cannot share his work though... But support! Maybe can we see this feature in-game? Would be a lot interesting!!!

I think you understood me wrong, I don't want anything inside the game but a separate web page (same as they did for units/strategies) so that you can calculate the likelihood of each result given a specific battle (that already happened OR that you think could happen. To answer your remarks though: a) I completely disagree, poker odds calculators do no take away any skill element from poker, do they?? All it does is to put a number on your gut feeling... b) You misunderstood how I mean this to work, ie completely outside the game engine, ie you do the input manually (try the link I put for poker and you will understand) c) same as b), I do not expect this to be in-game but rather a page you would keep open in another tab for cross-checking every now and then (typically u lose a battle you thought You'd win and want to know how unlucky u were Like I said I intend this to be like the numerous poker odds calculators you can find on the web Cheers

You are right, I mis-read your OP, still it would require a very complex algorithm to calculate the massive variants, but possible.

Nice to see a new idea... But this just isn't practical... to implement or to enhance play. 1.A lot of coding for Amok (take a look at map editor). 2.Distracts from play... too many moves need to be made. 3. Too demanding on whatever engine this game runs on... Lag is OP enough as it is. edit: didn't bother reading other posts, so sorry if i repeated a point

U didnt even read the original post it seems Look at the poker odds calculator and u ll understand what I want. This is not even a feature of the game, just statistics... I m sure u can even do it on Excell...

It would be pointless, because you forgot how players can all of a sudden reinforce 40+ units in their caps

Haha don't exasperate pls, I get your idea and it would be nice but for that we would need the help from admins, in order to check that the calculations are correct right?

If you are talking about battle, its to many variables to calculate, especially with reinforcing. However, if you are talking about winning the actually game, I could help with that. Countless experience has taught me what is a win scenario for myself. It depends on the skill level of players as well. I can help you if you are looking for rough estimates: If you play like me: Small maps: Chances of winning is high until enemies unit count are 2x yours. (Assuming low-medium skill level) Chances of winning is high until enemies unit count are 1x yours. (Assuming skill level) Large maps: Chances of winning are high if you own 1 continent. (Assuming low-medium skill level) Chances of winning are high if you own europe + asia. (Assuming equal skill level or lower). These are just brief odds, I didn't go much in depth here. Is this what you are looking for?

thats not a "poker" style calculator.... A poker style calculator predicts the odds of you winning a hand while playing... What you're suggesting then is giving people something to complain or brag about after the turn is over.... not a useful tool to improve gameplay... moron I dont know why you bother posting in forums either you're just wasting everyone's time. Now fuck off.

He asks for a calculator that gives you the odds of wining a determined battle with a set number of predetermined units, which you would be able to change manually. I'm still not sure you understood what he actually means

You're not being smart. You're being irritating. The people in this thread that have actually tried put the time in to listen to your every word.. you're disrespecting, so i find it hard to respect you. This *amazing* idea of yours is never going to happen. Stop thinking so highly of yourself. And just to clarify: this phrase implies something that will happen future. i.e before the turn starts.... learn to communicate your ideas properly, then people wont be so easily confused.
