It's more broken that it was before. I just tried cloning the world map again and I have the same problem. You can't choose a country, you can only choose a capital city and then click on the country name and you're stuck in the capital city and your units can't move anywhere.
yea you are right, somehow it's not working anymore if you clone the default world map. What is weird I just cloned another map and everything worked fine...

Each unit category has an "other" option, with very large, super-generous stat ranges. Why is that not sufficient?
Because this method doesn't support strategies. You still want to keep in the possibility to use strategies efficiently; with a game full of Other-units, most strategies are useless or just a disadvantage (especially if you aren't premium and don't have access to neutral strategies like LB or IF)
That is true - however, if you want to significantly exceed the current limits, then the boosts and nerfs of a given unit-specific strat will be largely ineffectual (range might be the exception). The strats were carefully determined and refined with the standard units and the limits on each.
Good point! When I first proposed the idea, I stated that any unbalance will be the map creator's fault and the quality on his map will depend on how well he can handle "no restrictions". If you over-do stats, strategies will be less effective indeed - but I'm not necessarily talking about massive changes, but little adjustments like ±1 HP or just that tiny bit more ATK/DEF/Range or less view range.
To pick up your statement, I think it would then be a great idea to warn map-makers when they exceed the suggested value range. The red "error"-value next to a field could simply be kept for that, so that inexperienced players know they are wandering into possibly unbalanced terrain.

I could agree to that. Very reasonable. Support!

Hey guys,
thanks for the reports. The "Loop Map Horizontally" option is giving us a couple of troubles, in the meanwhile please disable it if your map gives you the trouble of countries not being colored or not being able to move outside of a default map city.
Those whose maps got corrupted and wants to returns to an older version - would it be possible to make a list for Amok to review?
Please make a thread in the bugs forums if there's any other issue that I haven't looked into.
Thanks!

Hey guys,
wanted to say thanks to everybody for your reports. They have been extremely helpful and critical to get the Map Editor working. We know that it's not perfect yet - but with your help, it can get closer!
There seems to be many reports about many issues, and again that's fine. I'm trying to address what I can, reading messages checking forums and also reading on sometimes unrelated threads. Many times I find myself checking the same issue over and over.
It would help me tremendously if we all used the bugs report forums and posted all the bugs there - no direct messages, no posting here, in General or in other unrelated topic. if your issue was already reported, please thumbs up the post so that I can prioritize to get it fixed.
Thanks!
