I found it pretty fucking strange that as soon as some of these attacks were carried out in France they were already bombing in Syria the next day, as far as I understand how militaries work they usually require a Heck of a lot more time to prepare.

Its not just one countries fault. The middle east is a complex are with many factors to consider. Colonialism might be one yes, but theres many other issues to consider

small point of fact - serious militarized.nations are always prepared & ready to strike - speed is relative to politicians willingness to do so.
