I have been playing Atwar for about 5 months now, and for the most part I truly love the game. But the one thing that has been a complete irritant from the gitgo, has been the ability for players to change game options during the game. I believe that no one, not even the host should be able to change game options once the game has started. If the host or players are to lazy to review the options before starting then they should be stuck playing it or give up. If players don't like the options the host set forward, then they shouldn't be playing that game. I have seen and experienced once to often where a player or players change the options during the game, be it turn time limit or alliances, so as to gain an advantage during the game. Either way, the game is now no longer what you started playing in the beginning, and how is this not cheating? If Atwar is going to still allow the changing of game options during the game, then I suggest it can either not happen unless the host chooses so, which still allows the host to screw players over, or there has to be a unanimous vote to do so, which is the most fair way to handle it. But in my opinion, I think that once the game starts, option changing should not be allowed, ever. I know this is a topic that has been discussed before, but nothing has been done as of yet and personally if something isn't done then it can and most likely will destroy the game, at least for me it will.

Disagree. Let's say you are playing a WWII. You generally need 5-6 minutes to do one turn in WWII, but for the first turn, you may need 6-8 in order to make sure everything is perfect. You don't want 7 minute turns throughout the game, it is best that you can change the options.

Hence the reason you can click "end turn" and move on. Yes, at times you'll be like "c'mon dude, move it along", but you'll always have people rushing and people taking their time and doing their thing. Bottom line, in my opinion, once the game starts, the options shouldn't change. Don't like it get a premium account and host your own games the way you want them. Right now, with the options being able to be changed, you can't even do that.
