Yes, "no general" option is important.

"Who deserves it" has to be defined very carefully, can be misleading and misused.But, in general, it is meant to support those non-premium players that are contributing to AW community (in help channel, in forum, translations, training, discussions, bug report, competitive games, in coalitions, etc.) in getting premium. I see nothing bad about it; it's like going to a bank and they'll ask for your record to give you a loan. In this case it would be: "show me your AW curriculum and we'll tell you if you qualify"... or something similar. But yes, has to be dealt carefully and very transparent!

I do agree with your statement about the possibility of hypocritical actions like sending it only to people who deserve it. I also agree with no general thing too. It would level the playing field for everyone which I believe in. However, the fact of the matter is that this change is not going to happen. So, I believe the playing field should be leveled out, so I believe being generous with the resources I have is a way to help
