Ivan mentioned clans in the chat/messenger topic. I thought about it some time ago and now worked out a small concept that might be of use further implementation. Hope there are some ideas in it that help. Make a seperate, fully fledged world map where clans can battle out who owns which part, and giving bonusses for clan members of clans that own certain territories in clan wars at said dates. For example, if your clan owns: - A continent (which should be exceptionally hard to hold) - A country (including all cities) - A city Give bonusses such as the following: - Income for certain cities - Bonusses to reinforcement production - Give a small bonus to the defense of that city - Make production of (certain types of) units in certain cities cheaper - Make production of special units possible from certain cities, even without having the required tech / strat upgrades. - etc. Bonusses apply outside the clan-wars, in normal PvP games, so if your clan owns, say Amsterdam, Amsterdam is a good place for you to keep as a capital / chokepoint. Clan bonusses should be visible for all other players in the game. Since the initial filling of the world map shouldn't be too easy, clans should put up a fight for it against "neutrals" to win an unoccupied territory, neutrals being other players that are online and defend that territory in a non-clan alliance. Maybe even start with only one continent or territory, such as the nowadays popular "Europe". Later you'll probably see that rivalling clans defend with the neutrals against occupation of territories by their rival clans. Maybe even limit the amount of times per week that someone can particitpate in clan wars, so that small clans can't grow excessively wihout recruiting more members. Small clans simply wont be able to defend all their territories and aqcuire new ones at the same time, and not only a small part of the clan will fight the major part of the wars. Clan "presidents" or "generals" will have to think whether to put their stronger (and highly skillpointed) players on offense or defense. Basically, you make a bigger copy of a World-map PvP game, with each clan-game representing a single battle for a city. Big clans fight multiple per week and can own large territories, while smaller clans can still be more than a nuisance and take more than a bite off a territory, especially if they work together.

Thanks for sharing this, you have some excellent ideas there. Would be great to have a parallel persistent game for clans. Such a game would require a completely separate approach, so it's not something we can slap together in a few days. But I can tell you that it's something we really want to do in the future.

Nothing is rejected until it is tried and tested. So I say, good thinking here on ideas. I am new member but have been playing for a while. Cut my teeth on the orginal board game where it was difficult to make these kind of suggestions. If you want me to assist in any way... Just ask.

Back in the days when admins still looked into players feedback. Also, no support.
