Lucky 7s Tournament

As you can tell, I've been promoted to rank 8.

After I ranked up, Hdrakon, Joedtaxi, MOU, myself, and V for Vendetta had a fun chat about the curren state of the rank 7 class. None of us had a clear answer as to who was the top rank 7, but we all could agree on similar nominees.

So lets find out who's the top rank 7, shall we?

Fancy graphics will come later, I promise.

Lets get a few things straight first. 1.) This is not a 'prove yourself' contest. This is to find out who is the elite of the elite, top doge. (yes I spelled that correctly) Madara has hosted two middle rank tourneys as well as a low rank/high rank 2v2 tourney. The majority of 3v3s are rank 7+ and take it from me, a rank 7 CAN cw often. If we haven't heard of you yet, it's not our fault. 2.) You may have noticed me using terms such as 'we' and 'our'. That's because I will not dictate who gets in the tourney, and who doesn't. I will assemble a committee (not including myself) who will judge on who will participate in this tourney and who will not. I have already selected my prospects for the committee and I will contact them within the next two days.

Wowe. Elitism much Fock?

This is a tournament for the elite after all. The committees decisions are not final, so keep that in mind. If 75% of the community wants a player removed/added, the community will override.

So how do I participate Fock?

In order to be considered for judging by the committee, you must first have a rank 8+ sponsor you by nominating you.

Well how does nominating work?

Simple. Your sponsor will post in this thread with your name and then write a short paragraph as to why he nominated you.

Rules for nominating?

Rank 8 may only sponsor 2 people.
Rank 9 may only sponsor 3 people
Rank 10+ may only sponsor 4 people.

You do not have to sponsor the maximum number of people your rank allows.

Extra cities must be on
Alliances must be disabled

No rewalls or wall glitching
No first turn wf or entering opponents country first turn
Upon both players agreement, upgrades and or strategies may be turned off.
Please report any abusers of these rules.
*Would be a good tip to turn off game chat during match.

So, let the fun begin! The committee will be announced Thursday and you all have one week to nominate your players! On Tuesday the committee will vote and the tournament will begin the following day.

MY NOMINATIONS:

1.) The Tactician!

Comes as no surprise to many of you. Tact is an elite rank 7 who is a veteran of his rank. I first met him back in evoL many months ago. I have never considered Tact an enemy, but a respectable, friendly rival. Over the last 7 months or so, Tact and I have always shared the CW spot, first for the rank 5/6 spot, then for the 6/7 spot, soon afterwards the 7/7 spot and now we share the 7/8 spot. On the surface many might consider us identical in skill level, but deep down I firmly believe tact is above me. Just you watch until he acquires all upgrades, although he doesn't need those upgrades to match will the leading rank 10s and 11s. A strong contendor and a shoo-in for a spot in the tourney, Tact has what it takes to win it all. GL Tact!

Whay if we rank up during the tournament and how many players?

Bla, no rank 7's in Syndi other than soveirgn, I'll ask him if he wants me to nominate him, if he doesn't, anyone want to be nominated?

Hell fellow Afterwinders,My nomine is egg123 ! In my opinion egg123 is a top rank 7,maybe not the best,but of the best.Who saied that is joedtaxi alt gtf bitch he is just his brother.Egg have a high chance of winning cuse have been trained from pontez, madara and spart.If those mentors dont knew that egg will be a stronk player they wont take him as mentee.This is my opinion and fock i think there are not a lot of stronk r7.There was some like you, bullet maybe and me but we ranked up.Anyway GL egg and Tactician to this turney.

Ranking up during tourney won't be an issue. There will be no max number of players but I can assure you the final group will be small.

Btw I will be gone for the next 14 hours or so, so Id really appreciate anybody that advertises this tourney. Thanks guys!

I nominate Tact aswell, he can match higher ranks to himself and can play a variety of strategies if he wishes to, which most rank 7s can't. We let him play lots of CWs and he's never let us down (also has a strong record). bla bla bla GO TACT

This is my challenge to you:

1. Change ur profile pic.
2. Scout out and nominate an unknown rank 7 who you think would boost the competitive side of AW.

It will be fun, and would give more options than the few 3v3 players.

Why always boost the competitive side... It's like when playing any other games than duels/CW's/3v3's you belong to the Dark Side. Even when there comes out a top r7, all the others will be scared to cw with a lesser r7 against him so that wouldn't be good for the almighty competitive side.

What if the best r7 player plays scenarios and doesn't want to be a part of the tourney, or the almighty competitive side? Then this tourney would be even more ridicolous. Yes, even more, what is the point of this nominating? Can't any player just be a part of it as there are not enough r7 to read the tournament forum... What if we are finding the r7 most eager to learn but he get's a shoutout for being noob because he loses in the first round? What is the point of having a committee put together to choose a r7? They might aswell kick the best one out without knowing, or not be able to pick him out when he does not have 'sponsors'?

As you can see I have my questions for this tourney. If someone can give me reasonable answers to all I can ofcourse change my mind . To me it looks like a tourney, for not enough r7's, who are not considered as more imortant then any other rank, with alot of glamour (which is absolutely not necessary).

Why take this so seriously? You really think winning a tourny makes you best in atwar? Bragging rights maybe. Everybody knows or should know that every time you play, every time you get an upgrade, you become a different player than you were before. Winning a match/tourny means you were best fighting against these opponents with these upgrades at this time under these circumstances. A long track record of continuously dominating makes you the best. One tourny does not. These tournys are meant for fun, nobody really cares about who is best. That label is simply for show and adds Zest to the competition.

Also, mods recently said that they can not officially confirm who is an alt and who is not. Having a committee who has watched over these nominees helps eliminate any alts who become active now just to sneak into the competition.

This tourny is meant for fun and to recognize some good players. If you want this tourny to be anything different, you are free to make your own, But this tourny has a lot of support so I will continue with this one.

he is one of these players you dont often come across in competitive games
but he have his unique skills and potential to be one of the top rank 7 out there
