Have you ever happen to play a colonial map or long total annihilation map and at some point or another you had to follow a player that was technically dead, but you couldn't kill him because he capture a island in the middle of the pacific or south africa? Well no more! Lets add a defeat that will trigger if the player meets certain criteria, example: ----------Does the player have his capital? ----------If TRUE: no effect ----------If FALSE: is X > 20? --------------------If TRUE: no effect --------------------If FALSE: Is it reinforcements week? --------------------------------If TRUE: Player loses --------------------------------If FALSE: no effect (X) = Reinforcements. ^ this is by no means a script, its just a example of a function that could be used to make players lose in total annihilation.

Doesn't that take away from what total annihilation is?

This could be a different victory condition. Colonial maps need this. Rather than: capture enemy capital or capture enemy home country, or capture all cities, it could be: capture means of production.

I understand your idea and agree with you. There should be an option for scenario creators to determine a player would lose if specific cities are captured.

Which is NOT total annihilation but a different victory condition. For instance, if income or reinforcements drop under a certain minimum level or particular cities have been taken and kept for a certain amount of turns, etc.

Support only if X < 5. 20 is too much. And btw support the new condition and cities.

Leave Total Annihilation as is... having to chase down a fleeing enemy is part of what defines TA.

4 or 5 sentry planes should be enough to reach from north to south edges. Then just work your way around the map. Doesn't seem very difficult to me. Though I've never played one.
