In Regards To Picking Countries (3v3s)

I, for one, am tired of trying to play 3v3s and having everybody rage and declare "TROLLL" for picking unpopular countries.

At one point, Sweden, Italy and Poland were considered "troll" picks. Now they are mainstream. But everybody in atwar is still too scared to try something new. Having RC or Austria picked leads to the person playing Ukraine or Germany/Turkey to feel unconfortable because they have no clue how to improvise and expand. Aren't both of those skills pillars of atwar? Aren't the best players the ones who can improvise and expand the best. regardless of cirumstances? That is, assuming the matchup is fair.

I'm getting so sick of these newfags thinking 3v3 is a set country vs the same 5 other countries. Honestly, a game can just about be won nowadays if you pull some crazy shit out of the blue, because just about all players can't react properly to the crazy shit, because they're a little machine attacking the same countries with the same units every damn game.

So please, when somebody picks an unpopular country, don't rage. Don't leave. Don't quit. Play it. Being able to react under cirumstances different than you're accustom too will get you MUCH farther than playing the same shit will.

tl;dr stop being fags and play new countries.

I don't play 3v3s, but the same thing applies to 6 player free-for-all Europe games.

Why? All close enough to protect each other, basically own the northern money, their game is all on spawn grabbing, good cohesion it can work fine.

You are right that anything within reason can be played, as long as the plan is clear and viable, but the optimal attrition countries are always the high spawn/money controllers and will always be the 'standard'
The worst thing is being called a troll for picking it, the funniest is then raping with it.

I also agree with fock, mainstream picks are outdated and boring, also overrated.

So we are cwing and i am turk and skend is spain. A usual normal game and around turn 3 or 4 Ukraine steals my Albania. Next turn i see Albania in skends colour with 8 units in it!! Like wtf!! The minute the enemy stole my Albania, skend send tanks with AT from Spain to take it back it for fuck shake! In a cw!! thats Albania power!

Why would a noob be playing 3v3 in the first place? If he can't handle playing a new country, he probably won't be able to handle one of the 6 standard country's either.

This has nothing to do with my personal skill set. Respected players like b0nker who have a globally recognized skill set have been called a 'troll' before all players leave the game.

Due to that fact, it's obvious it has to do more with people not willing to go outside their comfort zone. People are afraid of doing something new, because it requires them to do a different expansion and attack different countries.

Also, people are more than free to play any strategy they want. If you go RA Spain, is anybody going to call you a troll and leave? Nope. So why should you call somebody a troll for playing a different country?

And who gets to decide if someone is pro/ noob or troll? People in 3v3s should be able to play what they wish, rank/experience should not restrict people to 'standard' picks (within reason).
