Add ADS to at-war to generate more money

It would be a good way to generate more cash and allow us to get benefits with it. You could place the ads at the end of games, before you join the game, website or in the lobby.

Would these benefits be the addition of coders to the staff?

Yes, or get a really strong one in return.

We already have ADS in the person of Waffle and numerous others

We tried and had 2 issues.
We were unable to integrated the adcode into the platform without causing bugs with the website.The return on the ads is relatively low therefore not really worth it.

Oh @Sun Tzu and Brian I am fine with it as long as this game gets benefited.

Considering most of the aw users have some kind of adblocker i dont think it will be worth it unless admins block adblock to place adveristments which will even more damage atwar

What sun Tzu means is, they tried it, but Amok is such an incompetent coder that he didn't know how to do it right, so they just gave up.

Even if ads were implemented with 60k page impressions $200 a month earned would be the absolute most this site could generate - even with intermodal video ads (before games)would only generate about $100-$150 per month (being kind) - therefore for the amount of time resolving bugs, implementing code, dealing with ad agencies' etc, really isn't worth it. Furthermore, the highest paying advertisers will be other games, which is believed to be counter productive to atWar.

The mark of a good business is to be able to advertise about other, similar businesses without drop in customers (sort of a "fuck yeah bitch, we are that cool"). Make atWar that business
